Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Beck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Beck in the 19th minute of play. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Tommy Beck tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 25th minute of play forced Ronnys Lärjungar's goalkeeper Rolf Arvidsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolf Arvidsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Arvidsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Tommy Beck lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Tommy Kahn. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolf Arvidsson having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match, Tommy Beck tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tommy Kahn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 42 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Malte Schiele. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 played minutes, Ronnys Lärjungar's Karl Grep shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tommy Kahn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ronnys Lärjungar reached it. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Kjell-Arne Skott kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot.
