Arnout Reekers came out and tried to block the shot, but Fidel Ortzi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. Johnny Gobillot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 21st minute of the match. After 23 played minutes El Gallo de Moron got a freekick which was hit by Bernardino Quintin. In the 33rd minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Gobillot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 38th minute of play forced El Gallo de Moron's goalkeeper Johnny Gobillot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fidel Ortzi struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Gallo de Moron. When Joel Francis fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Gallo de Moron's protests and gave Joel Francis a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, El Gallo de Moron's Joel Francis got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Johnny Gobillot showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Valentin Ferrando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Schubert in the 56th minute of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferdinand Hohenzollern, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. El Gallo de Moron's Adriano Planovskiy was substituted for Fidel Ortzi. The supporters of El Gallo de Moron booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaaf Groeneveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Gustaaf Groeneveldt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Kees Mooiweer got a free kick in the 81st minute. El Gallo de Moron's Marian Radziszewski was substituted for Justino Eusko. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
