An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertram Svenningsen in the 9th minute of play forced Stellenbosch's goalkeeper Baldomero Burutzagi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes in the game, Mikkel Wulff fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Baldomero Burutzagi having to interfere. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Oinatz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Denmark's zone, Isidoro Ofelio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal and Isidoro Ofelio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stellenbosch's Baldomero Burutzagi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Stellenbosch from getting a goal against them. Keld Paulsen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Oinatz went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 32nd match minute, Stellenbosch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Emenon to maneuver through the defense. Mikkel Wulff took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baldomero Burutzagi. Baldomero Burutzagi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Stellenbosch's Baldomero Burutzagi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikkel Wulff in the 37th minute of play. Fausto Fidele hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Bertram Svenningsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baldomero Burutzagi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Baldomero Burutzagi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bertram Svenningsen's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. If Florentino Ferrer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Cayetano Emenon's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cayetano Emenon helped the player get up and apologised. Cayetano Emenon kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute of the match Chris Nygaard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baldomero Burutzagi skillfully saved the ball. Bertram Svenningsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Burutzagi having to interfere. Baldomero Burutzagi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertram Svenningsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
