Alão Bastos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. After a rather tough play, Great Ayton's Albertino Almeida got a free kick in the 10th minute. The throw-in from Paulo Akwa in the 13th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Denmark's Lars Steen. Albertino Almeida could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chris Nygaard in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alão Bastos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alão Bastos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertram Svenningsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maurício Quilempan kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute of the match Chris Nygaard shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alão Bastos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Albertino Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albertino Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Denmark booed when Great Ayton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Custódio Matta in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Keld Paulsen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Great Ayton's Paulo Akwa got a free kick in the 28th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Paulo Akwa in the 31st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Denmark's Lars Steen. Alão Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertram Svenningsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Bertram Svenningsen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Denmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Bertram Svenningsen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alão Bastos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alão Bastos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bertram Svenningsen went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Chris Nygaard scored 0-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alão Bastos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alão Bastos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chris Nygaard went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Keld Paulsen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 48 minutes into the game, Mikkel Wulff cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Alão Bastos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Denmark were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Nygaard made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, Great Ayton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Quilempan to maneuver through the defense. The audience cheered when Chris Nygaard's long shot passed Alão Bastos's right side. It was 0-5, 54 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alão Bastos saved Great Ayton from getting behind. After 63 played minutes Great Ayton got a freekick which was hit by Albertino Almeida. After a defensive mix-up in Great Ayton's zone, Bertram Svenningsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alão Bastos came out of the goal and Bertram Svenningsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bertram Svenningsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alão Bastos having to interfere. Denmark's attentive Lars Steen managed to snatch the ball when Paulo Akwa made a throw-in in the 79th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Bertram Svenningsen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alão Bastos. That made the score 1-6 in the 80 minute of play. Alão Bastos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 85th minute of the match. The supporters of Denmark booed when Great Ayton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Quilempan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Custódio Matta came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute Chris Nygaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alão Bastos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Ganete, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Denmark's Lars Steen quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Paulo Akwa, made in the 96th minute of the game. Great Ayton's Alão Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Great Ayton from getting a goal against them. The Great Ayton fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Denmark were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
