After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Albin Holweck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Itzaina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Holweck in the 9th minute of play forced Punta Alvear's goalkeeper Victor Itzaina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Itzaina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Willy Stieler in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Punta Alvear's Epifanio Silvino. When David Mirande fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Punta Alvear's protests and gave David Mirande a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, Punta Alvear was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Mirande to maneuver through the defense. Punta Alvear's Victor Itzaina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Albin Holweck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Vincente struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Punta Alvear. In the 27th match minute, Punta Alvear was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Kauldi to maneuver through the defense. Victor Itzaina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Holweck in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Punta Alvear's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Victor Itzaina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Punta Alvear's Oscar Kauldi quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ulrich Stein, made in the 41st minute of the game. If Christian Licerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Frank Sachs made the kick off in the second half. Victor Itzaina didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 56th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Sachs got free with Victor Itzaina in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game was made by Chris Mergenthaler with Frank Sachs as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 68 minutes into the game, Felix Vincente threw the ball into play from the sideline. Germany's Linus Schwerner quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 69 minutes into the game, Ulrich Stein threw the ball into play from the sideline. Punta Alvear's Teobaldo Terciero quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With a little luck, Punta Alvear's Victor Itzaina got control of the ball when Frank Sachs tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albin Holweck struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Victor Itzaina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Victor Itzaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Itzaina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Sachs in the 82nd minute. When Christian Licerio fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Punta Alvear's protests and gave Christian Licerio a yellow card for diving instead. Christian Licerio hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, Janik Vogt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Itzaina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilio Aureo kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Germany had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
