With his leg Wilson Amorim managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when FC Hans's Viorel Moldovan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 31st minute of the match FC Hans got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dan Waller ran over to the corner to take the kick. Timmy Kjellkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 36th minute of the match. If Viorel Moldovan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 37 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Viorel Moldovan. Timmy Kjellkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viorel Moldovan got free with Wilson Amorim in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Moura was the one to do the kick off. In the 76thth minute of the game Ulf Arvidsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulf Arvidsson in the 79th minute of play. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Ståhlberg in the 87th minute of play. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1.
