The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Merexildo Raimundo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tolis Prinianakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Tolis Prinianakis. GREEN LIONS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The supporters of GREEN LIONS booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathijn Doctor didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikitas Galanos in the 21st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Tolis Prinianakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tolis Prinianakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tolis Prinianakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Marcial Saez scored to the left of an out of position Arnout Reekers, making the score, 2-1. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Tolis Prinianakis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iosu Muelas kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Jorge Peredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save.

Tolis Prinianakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Gijsbert ter Kruimer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but GREEN LIONS's Tolis Prinianakis did a great save. After a rather tough play, GREEN LIONS's Iosu Muelas got a free kick in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, GREEN LIONS's goalkeeper Tolis Prinianakis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. In the 58th minute Nikitas Galanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikitas Galanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patryk Jazowski kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tolis Prinianakis having to interfere. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Egbert Nijveldt got a free kick in the 70th minute. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. GREEN LIONS made a substitution. Iker Muniain replaced Nikitas Galanos. 85 minutes into the match, GREEN LIONS's Jorge Peredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnout Reekers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lars Meesters scored 2-4 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tolis Prinianakis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th minute Jorge Peredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
