Serbia's Borjan Golubovic quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Daniel Munhoz, made in the 13th minute of the game. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute of the match, Sreten Popovic tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Abel Senna saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Erivaldo Zonta fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MARINUS MZC's protests and gave Erivaldo Zonta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Serbia booed when MARINUS MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Drasko Rajkovic got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Daniel Munhoz fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MARINUS MZC's protests and gave Daniel Munhoz a yellow card for diving instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sreten Popovic was the one to do the kick off. Valdo Guimarães made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Serbia's Momir Gisic. 56 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Gustavo Bueno came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Serbia's attentive Borjan Golubovic managed to snatch the ball when Daniel Munhoz made a throw-in in the 65th minute of the game. 70 minutes into the game, Sreten Popovic cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Abel Senna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valdo Guimarães made in the 78th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Serbia's Rasko Nestorovski. Sreten Popovic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Abel Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abel Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sreten Popovic in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Sreten Popovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MARINUS MZC's Erivaldo Zonta got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Erivaldo Zonta off the ground. Erivaldo Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
