In the 17th minute, Fawards's Jermaine Ellerby ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ilija Skugor. Ilija Skugor yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 21 minutes into the game, Croatia's Martin Bosak nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom Hughes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Tom Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toni Mauzer in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dominic Allwright in the 26th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ilija Skugor came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Fawards's Dominic Allwright. But to his dismay, Dominic Allwright quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Tom Hughes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Mauzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jermaine Ellerby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
