With his leg Marcus Mazza managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Italy's Zaccheo Andolina fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Zaccheo Andolina in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcus Mazza, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Karapinar's Marcus Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 9th minute of play. Tanek Podolski hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Tanek Podolski came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcus Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 31st minute of play. A very nice done corner allowed Deodato Magliozzi to score against Marcus Mazza in Karapinar's goal. 1-0 after 33 minutes. 36 minutes into the game, Deodato Magliozzi threw the ball into play from the sideline. Karapinar's Çağdaş Ersayın quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience thought a goal was coming when Porziano Marchitelli got free with Marcus Mazza in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A sloppy throw-in by Tommy Bogren in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 52nd minute, Zaccheo Andolina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcus Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 56 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Marcus Mazza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcus Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Porziano Marchitelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The supporters of Karapinar booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sostene Vitulli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Karapinar's goalkeeper Marcus Mazza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Porziano Marchitelli came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Porziano Marchitelli couldn't finish the play. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. After a rather tough play, Karapinar's Çağdaş Ersayın got a free kick in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Curto in the 92nd minute of play forced Karapinar's goalkeeper Marcus Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Italy's Adriano Curto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Mazza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Italy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Karapinar had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
