When Anton Swanson fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Miami Futbol Club's protests and gave Anton Swanson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Italy booed when Racing Miami Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton Swanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zaccheo Andolina took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jarrod Leary. Jarrod Leary dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 33 minutes into the game, Racing Miami Futbol Club's Truman Crockett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavio Vittori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Jarrod Leary took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Sigfrido Auletta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Italy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 54th minute, Sigfrido Auletta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jarrod Leary. Racing Miami Futbol Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zaccheo Andolina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 58th minute of the match, Zaccheo Andolina tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jarrod Leary saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson in the 61st minute of play. Jarrod Leary made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 66th minute. Racing Miami Futbol Club made a substitution. Chance Adams replaced Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson. Italy's Siricio Liotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alexis Hoover, made in the 68th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chance Adams in the 74th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jarrod Leary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Siricio Liotta in the 78th minute of the match. Italy were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Racing Miami Futbol Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sigfrido Auletta took the corner. After some careless play in the Italy defense, Chance Adams kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavio Vittori. The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Vittori should have stopped the shot. Italy made a substitution. Guiscardo Davide replaced Sigfrido Auletta. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Guiscardo Davide could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Jarrod Leary made a huge save. Jarrod Leary showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Curto, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Italy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
