After a defensive mix-up in Astral's zone, Rivaldo Esquerdo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Slawomir Cholewa came out of the goal and Rivaldo Esquerdo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Armada's Färid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogumil Gregorczyk in the 22nd minute of play. Bogumil Gregorczyk in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Färid Mondragón, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Róbert Benkó sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Slawomir Cholewa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbert Benkó, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Armada were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Astral booed when Armada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliodor Coposu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
