Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Santxol in the 7th minute of the match. Carl Engström made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Sigfrido Auletta sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Victor Santxol sped through Italy's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Benett, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Carl Engström was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zaccheo Andolina showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. Italy's Zaccheo Andolina got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Italy were furious when Sostene Vitulli was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 31st minute, one of Italy:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Italy. In the 34th minute Surahammar were awarded a corner. Toninho Lara went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Vincent Benett almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Italy's Flavio Vittori did a great save. Folke Skröder made in the 38th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Victor Santxol however managed to control. Porziano Marchitelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Engström having to interfere. Victor Santxol struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Flavio Vittori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Surahammar. Sigfrido Auletta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Engström having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victor Santxol to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victor Santxol got free with Flavio Vittori in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Italy booed when Surahammar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Santxol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radamel Oakley in the 72nd minute of play. Carl Engström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siricio Liotta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radamel Oakley in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Italy's Sigfrido Auletta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carl Engström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. André Pettersson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Flavio Vittori firmly grabbed it by the left post. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Surahammar succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Italy had controlled the match.
