France's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cometuétano the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of France:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cometuétano:s goal. The referee gave Cometuétano a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Antoni Paris, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of France's Maxime Durand. 0-1. When Cometuétano's Zigor Barroso in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye France's goalie prevented a goal. If Antoni Paris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Zigor Barroso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cometuétano's supporters rose to their feet, but Zigor Barroso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maxime Durand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maxime Durand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoni Paris in the 12th minute of the match. After having played for 15 minutes, Frank Peletier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. France's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Peletier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of France booed when Cometuétano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Sevilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Cometuétano defense, Frank Peletier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Belarmo Sánchez. The Cometuétano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Belarmo Sánchez should have stopped the shot. After having played for 44 minutes, Robert Chapuis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aliecer Freire charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Barbier got free with Belarmo Sánchez in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zigor Barroso made a kick off. Cometuétano's Belarmo Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remy Dupuy in the 54th minute of play. Belarmo Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Camille Baume in the 55th minute of the match. Belarmo Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Peletier in the 56th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Peletier in the 60th minute of play forced Cometuétano's goalkeeper Belarmo Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camille Baume struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Belarmo Sánchez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for France.
