Jiang Chao Di took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Blasi in the 16th minute of play. Jiang Chao Di made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. 30 minutes into the game, Viriato Moura cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jiang Chao Di was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 33rd minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper Jiang Chao Di to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Fabricio Andrade in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Borussia Dortmund MZB's Cui Qian Jun. The Borussia Dortmund MZB players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Portugal were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Fabiano Leão was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jiang Chao Di made an important save on a dangerous shot by Viriato Moura in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund MZB's Oséias Palmeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Borussia Dortmund MZB's Cui Qian Jun quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fabricio Andrade, made in the 57th minute of the game. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund MZB booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséias Palmeira in the 67th minute of the match. Borussia Dortmund MZB made a substitution. Gernando Pernambucano replaced Oséias Palmeira. Borussia Dortmund MZB were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luis Blasi took the corner. Gernando Pernambucano was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Pernambucano in the 70th minute of play. A throw-in in the 75th minute of the game was made by Fabricio Andrade with Bartolomeu Dias as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalie prevented a goal. Fabricio Andrade made in the 79th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Caetano Moreira immediately put the ball in play. In the 81st minute, LeBron Naldo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Daniel Pimentel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Jiang Chao Di made a huge save. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund MZB's LeBron Naldo. But to his dismay, LeBron Naldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Borussia Dortmund MZB's Cui Qian Jun quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fabricio Andrade, made in the 91st minute of the game. The Borussia Dortmund MZB players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
