But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 28th minute of play forced forsal FC's goalkeeper Válter Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Válter Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. When forsal FC's Emiliano Lucchetta in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Attilio Pani was the one to do the kick off. forsal FC's Válter Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Emiliano Lucchetta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 57th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Válter Tasso was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Lucchetta in the 62nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. forsal FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arturo Barbanti in the 69th minute. If Emiliano Lucchetta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to forsal FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Attilio Pani hit a great ball. In the 80th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. forsal FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Lars Meesters managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After having played for 84 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, forsal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Válter Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Válter Tasso made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Lucchetta in the 96th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
