An unexpectedly hard shot by Siricio Liotta in the 11th minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Roberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute Fred Åkerström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Siricio Liotta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 34th play minute Fred Åkerström came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Flavio Vittori. 2-0. A collision led to Playa Malvín getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Alvise Catapano hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Fred Åkerström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Vittori was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. 43 minutes into the game, Fred Åkerström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavio Vittori. Fred Åkerström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. The supporters of Italy booed when Playa Malvín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantijn De Hond didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Åkerström in the 55th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Teixeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 58th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Porziano Marchitelli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zé Roberto Teixeira. That made the score 3-1 in the 58 minute of play. In the 61st minute, Fred Åkerström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Vittori was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Playa Malvín's Sesuldo Roque was substituted for Sandu Mândrilă. Playa Malvín made a substitution. Niva Espellosa replaced Fred Åkerström. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Porziano Marchitelli took a quick shot and it went in 4-2 without a chance for Zé Roberto Teixeira to make any attempt to save it. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niva Espellosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. 82 minutes into the match, Niva Espellosa notched a goal, 6-2, to the right of Italy's Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Niva Espellosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Playa Malvín's supporters rose to their feet, but Niva Espellosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavio Vittori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute Niva Espellosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Playa Malvín fans cheered their team off the field, for while Italy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
