Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Percival, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Eufemio, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The audience was convinced that Hugo Alexandersen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Dušan Ančic made a huge save. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Dušan Ančic, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dušan Ančic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 88th minute of play. After 90 played minutes Club Atlético de Newell got a freekick which was hit by Albert Gamble. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
