In the 2nd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Bastos to maneuver through the defense. 3 minutes into the match, Alfred Hajto sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Wilson Amorim threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Alfred Hajto this time. A collision led to The Valar getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Alfred Hajto hit a great ball. In the 8th minute, Bruno Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emmanuel Canturri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emmanuel Canturri came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Viriato Moura. But to his dismay, Viriato Moura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The Valar's Cristian Ozon quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rodolfo Miranda, made in the 20th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 26th minute of play forced The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Rigg in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. In the 32ndth minute of the game William Rigg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Portugal's Felipe Barreto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emmanuel Canturri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 36 minutes into the match, The Valar's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Emmanuel Canturri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emmanuel Canturri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 40th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Barreto in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emmanuel Canturri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42ndth minute of the game Felipe Barreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Rigg in the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes The Valar got a freekick which was hit by Martin Mols. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind The Valar's goalkeeper Emmanuel Canturri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, The Valar's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Emmanuel Canturri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Rigg in the 60th minute of the match. Viriato Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emmanuel Canturri having to interfere. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 65th minute, but Emmanuel Canturri got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving The Valar hanging dry this time. Emmanuel Canturri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Portugal's Viriato Moura dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Rigg in the 77th minute of play. Graciano Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emmanuel Canturri having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Portugal's Felipinho Amorim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. In the 85th minute, Felipinho Amorim had to leave the field with a concussion. Cristian Ozon's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristian Ozon helped the player get up and apologised. Portugal's Camilo Costa was substituted for Felipinho Amorim. After a rather tough play, The Valar's Cristian Ozon got a free kick in the 86th minute. William Rigg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A sloppy throw-in by Fabricio Andrade in the 90th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by The Valar's Cristian Ozon. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Portugal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
