Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) After 3 minutes FC Iecēni's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marek Hamšík in the 10th minute. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uvis Svitiņš, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The corner led FC Iecēni's Leons Gudrenieks to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnout Reekers despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 24th minute, Marek Hamšík made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Piotr Tworek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Piotr Tworek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 28th minute of play. After 29 minutes, Marek Hamšík mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Iecēni and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Iecēni's Uvis Svitiņš got a free kick in the 31st minute. FC Iecēni's Piotr Tworek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 34th minute of play. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Piotr Tworek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

FC Iecēni's Piotr Tworek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 51st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Piotr Tworek in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Iecēni's Piotr Tworek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save FC Iecēni from getting a goal against them. Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Piotr Tworek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piotr Tworek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 90th minute of play forced FC Iecēni's goalkeeper Piotr Tworek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marek Hamšík in the 93rd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Piotr Tworek threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Netherlands were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
