In the 2nd minute, Kurt Ahrem left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academica Pulheim fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Paul Heyckendorf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 6th minute of play. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Mansilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lutz Golke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The throw-in from Simon Beuke in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. In the 23rd minute, Felipe Barreto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lutz Golke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Bastos's late challenge caught a Academica Pulheim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Bastos helped the player get up and apologised. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Portugal! The referee gave Academica Pulheim a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alex Mansilha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. 2-2. Alex Mansilha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. 35 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's Alex Mansilha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Mansilha in the 37th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Mansilha in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viriato Moura got free with Paul Heyckendorf in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 48th minute Lutz Golke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Mansilha to strike the kick off in the second half. If Alex Mansilha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. When Academica Pulheim's Maxime Vrints in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Portugal's goalie prevented a goal. After 77 minutes, Maxime Vrints made it 3-4 with a short kick to the right side. Portugal's Wilson Amorim tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 84th minute Maxime Vrints shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maxime Vrints took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-5. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxime Vrints, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Academica Pulheim players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
