Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viriato Moura started the match with the kick off. Wilson Amorim didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 4th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Iker Madrid showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. But to his dismay, Viriato Moura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santiago Abreu got free with Wilson Amorim in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santiago Abreu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. In the 31st minute Santiago Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Madrid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Santiago Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Raul Caetano put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Celestiales booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Caetano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Albano Millan sped through Portugal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. In the 65th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Madrid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Madrid saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 68th minute of play forced Celestiales's goalkeeper Iker Madrid to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iker Madrid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 92nd minute of play. Portugal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
