Petroleros de Cabimas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Viviano Aguilar in the 9th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Petroleros de Cabimas's goal looked a bit too open when Chris Nygaard came free, but Atarratze Solis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Mathias Ludvigsen fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Mathias Ludvigsen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Mathias Ludvigsen hit a great ball. If Corderun Perucho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Corderun Perucho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Denmark booed when Petroleros de Cabimas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corderun Perucho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Petroleros de Cabimas's Gonsalve Aubets got a free kick in the 24th minute. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Chris Nygaard sped through Petroleros de Cabimas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Atarratze Solis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 82nd minute of play forced Petroleros de Cabimas's goalkeeper Atarratze Solis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atarratze Solis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertram Svenningsen in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Gonsalve Aubets threw the ball into play from the sideline. Denmark's Lars Steen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Llorienzo Lecanda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96thth minute of the game Chris Nygaard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petroleros de Cabimas's Atarratze Solis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Denmark were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
