The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Franciszek Lerych despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 9th minute of play forced Jadymy Durś's goalkeeper Franciszek Lerych to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Agostinho Negri recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers. Agostinho Negri showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 17th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franciszek Lerych saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Jadymy Durś fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franciszek Lerych should have stopped the shot. Franciszek Lerych showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Agostinho Negri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnout Reekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Franciszek Lerych took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jadymy Durś's Franciszek Lerych played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 44th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Witalis Rode hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Jadymy Durś's Jedrzej Sanocki got a free kick in the 70th minute. The Jadymy Durś players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
