The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 4th minute of play forced Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper William Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ezequiel Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Renato Motta hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the game, Motta Futebol Clube's Ezequiel Matorin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Jacinto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Frank Sachs showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 26 minute of play. The Motta Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Motta Futebol Clube's Carlinhos Vidal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 37thth minute of the game Frank Sachs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Motta Futebol Clube's William Jacinto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cícero Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Albin Holweck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Cícero Porto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Motta Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Germany the free kick. In the 43rd match minute, Motta Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cícero Porto to maneuver through the defense. 44 minutes into the match, Frank Sachs notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Motta Futebol Clube's William Jacinto. William Jacinto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Frank Sachs made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the game, Paulo Renato Motta threw the ball into play from the sideline. Germany's Linus Schwerner quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Motta Futebol Clube's Carlinhos Vidal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 2-4 after 61 minutes of play. Germany's Albin Holweck got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg William Jacinto saved Motta Futebol Clube from getting behind. Cícero Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Edvaldo dos Santos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tommy Kahn. Germany's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Carlinhos Vidal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. After 88 played minutes Motta Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Pombal. In the 89th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 91 minutes of play, Germany's Frank Sachs made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Jacinto was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Motta Futebol Clube supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Motta Futebol Clube would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
