Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Simared -MM-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Ernest Cazimir despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernest Cazimir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 93rd minute of play. Netherlands played a much better game than Simared -MM- and deserved their victory. The Simared -MM- players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
