Frank Sachs made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 2nd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Mergenthaler to maneuver through the defense. In the 3rd minute, Hendrik Holletschek sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Germany's Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move. Germany's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Jan Apostel scored to the left of an out of position Tommy Kahn, making the score, 1-0. Enrique Prata took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Jan Apostel might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Apostel ran back to his position shaking his head. Alban Bolesta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulrich Stein in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to FC Hamburg getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Eduard Hilpert hit a great ball. Germany's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Frank Sachs in the 18th minute. After taking down the ball on Germany's corner Linus Schwerner fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alban Bolesta quite easily take care of the ball. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Apostel in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Germany's Frank Sachs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alban Bolesta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Prata got free with Tommy Kahn in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ingolf Appenzeller's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Jan Apostel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alban Bolesta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 35th minute of play. After 36 played minutes, Germany's Albin Holweck shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alban Bolesta came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Germany reached it. In the 41st minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alban Bolesta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Apostel might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Apostel ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Apostel in the 43rd minute of play. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Enrique Prata sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enrique Prata to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Jan Apostel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. 60 minutes into the match, Jan Apostel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jan Apostel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 63rd minute, Hendrik Holletschek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan Apostel might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan Apostel ran back to his position shaking his head. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan Apostel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Ingolf Appenzeller kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the game, Linus Schwerner threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Hamburg's Ingolf Appenzeller quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Apostel in the 82nd minute of play. If Jan Apostel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ingolf Appenzeller hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Hamburg's Alban Bolesta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albin Holweck in the 90th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Albin Holweck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Alban Bolesta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Hamburg's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
