Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 23rd minute of play forced La Maquina 9-12-18's goalkeeper Jose Vimaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
