Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Petr Čech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antal Valentin scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petr Čech, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hungary's Fodor Daniel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute Balazs Lajos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hungary's Fodor Daniel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute Deng Yue Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Deng Yue Zhen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batalhão do Peçanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Deng Yue Zhen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fodor Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fodor Daniel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Epaminondas Baba in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute, Deng Yue Zhen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vânderson Vasconcelos got free with Fodor Daniel in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vânderson Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnaldo Tróia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fodor Daniel. That made the score 1-1 in the 29 minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Batalhão do Peçanha's Epaminondas Baba ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 38th minute Batalhão do Peçanha were awarded a corner. Stéphane Ballon went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Severino Dracena got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 3-1. 38 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Batalhão do Peçanha's goalkeeper Petr Čech, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

In the 51st minute, Major Barna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Batalhão do Peçanha were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Hungary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stéphane Ballon took the corner. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson Vasconcelos in the 59th minute of play. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Tróia in the 64th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Batalhão do Peçanha's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deng Yue Zhen in the 71st minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Takacs Tibor kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
