Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hegedus Henrik, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Holger Vester stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hegedus Henrik's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Celedonio Dominguez came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fodor Daniel could save by the left post. If Celedonio Dominguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Holger Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Hammarby IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. Celedonio Dominguez came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fodor Daniel could save by the left post. In the 22nd minute Hammarby IF were awarded a corner. Francesco Totti went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Bo-Erik Wallin heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Francesco Totti was slow to take the kick. During this time Hammarby IF's players had a chance to rest. Holger Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Takacs Tibor hit a great ball. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Totti in the 44th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Celedonio Dominguez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute there was a penalty for Hammarby IF. Francesco Totti stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fodor Daniel. 2-1. Katona Janos hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 59th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Takacs Tibor came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Takacs Tibor couldn't finish the play. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby IF from getting a goal against them. Francesco Totti struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hammarby IF. 69 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Holger Vester had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Major Barna. In the 70th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. 77 minutes into the game, Antal Valentin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Holger Vester was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 84th minute, Antal Valentin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Hammarby IF's Holger Vester got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Söderberg in the 90th minute of play. Celedonio Dominguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Fodor Daniel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute of the match, Antal Valentin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Holger Vester was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hammarby IF succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Hungary had controlled the match.
