The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Carlos Cesaro got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute Carlos Cesaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carlos Cesaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adria Bielsa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 10th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Cesaro in the 15th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bartolo Beliran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vicente Merino in the 16th minute. Bartolo Beliran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Aranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Carlos Cesaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabriel Ascaso was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Cesaro in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Ascaso saved Spain from getting behind. Spain's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Cesaro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Omar Toledo in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bartolo Beliran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With an all-out effort, Spain's Bartolo Beliran threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adria Bielsa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 39th minute of the match Spain got a corner. MARTINETA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Omar Toledo ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Cesaro in the 44th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 played minutes MARTINETA got a freekick which was hit by Lv Qiang Xiao. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Adria Bielsa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bartolo Beliran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. If Enzo-Nicolás Madrid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Omar Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartolo Beliran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Omar Toledo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bartolo Beliran was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Omar Toledo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bartolo Beliran was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. When Spain's Omar Toledo in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MARTINETA's goalie prevented a goal. Spain's Gabriel Ascaso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Spain from getting a goal against them. Gabriel Ascaso was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Carlos Cesaro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos Cesaro really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. MARTINETA made a substitution. Ruperto Rey replaced Carlos Cesaro. With a little luck, Spain's Gabriel Ascaso got control of the ball when Ruperto Rey tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 75thth minute of the game Ruperto Rey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Spain's Gabriel Ascaso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. MARTINETA's Lv Qiang Xiao was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gabriel Ascaso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The attack was good, but when Albino Eliu in the 88th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 95 minutes into the match, MARTINETA's goal looked a bit too open when Carles Cherro came free, but Bartolo Beliran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carles Cherro in the 96th minute of play forced MARTINETA's goalkeeper Bartolo Beliran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carles Cherro scored 1-2 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bartolo Beliran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Spain manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing MARTINETA to win.
