In the 12thth minute of the game Andolín Echeandía who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andolín Echeandía might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andolín Echeandía ran back to his position shaking his head. Salvador Ortega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 68th minute of play. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. When Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
