Roger Ekberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 7th minute of play. Major Barna took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roger Ekberg. Roger Ekberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. AC United were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Hungary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rune Olofsson took the corner. The corner ended in Rune Olofsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. 21 minutes into the match, Takacs Tibor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roger Ekberg. AC United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Takacs Tibor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Roger Ekberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. AC United's Bertil Näver got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Major Barna scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roger Ekberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bertil Näver made a kick off. If Bertil Näver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to AC United getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Joel Lindman hit a great ball. Roger Ekberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 64th minute. Major Barna scored 0-4 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roger Ekberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 72nd minute, Major Barna fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. AC United made a substitution. Egil Tidéksson replaced Erland Norberg. After 75 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Szekeres Tamas. After 80 minutes, Torsten Enström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC United and the Hungary players grew even worse after the yellow card. Torsten Enström hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Edvard Deckbergh hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Egil Tidéksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Antal Valentin in the 84th minute really tested Roger Ekberg's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Bertil Näver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
