Thanks to some nice moves Porziano Marchitelli could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Emilio Shepherd however easily saved by the left post. KN ZGORZELEC's Eugeniusz Kociniewski quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Deodato Magliozzi, made in the 13th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Wessel Bos came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Italy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariusz Kaleta was slow to take the kick. During this time KN ZGORZELEC's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Eugeniusz Kociniewski managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Gilbert Gotfryd's late challenge caught a Italy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilbert Gotfryd helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 played minutes KN ZGORZELEC got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Gotfryd. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wessel Bos, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute Sostene Vitulli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Shepherd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilbert Gotfryd hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Italy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sigfrido Auletta in the 28th minute. Italy's Sigfrido Auletta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Emilio Shepherd in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wessel Bos in the 29th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Mariusz Kaleta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KN ZGORZELEC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Italy the free kick. After 34 played minutes KN ZGORZELEC got a freekick which was hit by Mariusz Kaleta. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Shepherd saved KN ZGORZELEC from getting behind. Sigfrido Auletta made a great header on Italy's corner, it was just that KN ZGORZELEC's Emilio Shepherd managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Deodato Magliozzi got free with Emilio Shepherd in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wessel Bos in the 38th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zaccheo Andolina to strike the kick off in the second half. Siricio Liotta struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Emilio Shepherd didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Wessel Bos sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, KN ZGORZELEC's Gilbert Gotfryd got a free kick in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wessel Bos in the 62nd minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wessel Bos, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the game, one of KN ZGORZELEC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 1-0 came in the 69th minute when Sigfrido Auletta all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Emilio Shepherd. KN ZGORZELEC's Emiliano Felice was substituted for Mariusz Kaleta. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zaccheo Andolina in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilio Shepherd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Shepherd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Shepherd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
