Mercedes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anier Mon in the 41st minute. 43 minutes into the match, Santo Rumaldo notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Hungary's Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Major Barna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Ellande read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hegedus Henrik in the 48th minute of play forced Mercedes's goalkeeper Augusto Ellande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan-Ivar Nordmo was the one to do the kick off. In the 88th minute, Takacs Tibor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Ellande having to interfere. After having played for 95 minutes, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Major Barna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Mercedes players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
