Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 叶飞锋 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 辽宁国际队 made a substitution. 罗迪桑 replaced 潘凡旭. 吕景沙 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 61st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in 辽宁国际队's zone, Wim Wilmes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 吕景沙 came out of the goal and Wim Wilmes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when 陆亮永 came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 80th minute of play forced 辽宁国际队's goalkeeper 吕景沙 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 罗迪桑, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when 叶飞锋 came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because 辽宁国际队 had won, even though Netherlands had held more of the ball.
