Fausto Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fausto Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. 9 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Alvaro Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Coritiba Foot Ball Club defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvaro Rudolfo. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvaro Rudolfo should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Evaristo Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-1 in the 13 minute of play. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Romero in the 16th minute of play. Artur Laguna kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Alvaro Rudolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Rudolfo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Fausto Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Fausto Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 30 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marquez Padolles. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evaristo Montenegro in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 37th minute of play forced Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goalkeeper Alvaro Rudolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Rudolfo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fausto Romero, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 43 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Alvaro Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Evaristo Montenegro shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-1 in the ordered_time% minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Alvaro Rudolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Coritiba Foot Ball Club from getting a goal against them. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Alvaro Rudolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 77th minute of play forced Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goalkeeper Alvaro Rudolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Rudolfo. Alvaro Rudolfo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Romero in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gijsbert ter Kruimer to maneuver through the defense. Coritiba Foot Ball Club made a substitution. Steve Hyuga replaced Marquez Padolles. The supporters of Coritiba Foot Ball Club booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Romero in the 89th minute of play. The Coritiba Foot Ball Club support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
