Randall Haynes's late challenge caught a El Canalla de Chicago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Randall Haynes helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 13 minutes, Philip Weathers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brooklyn SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philip Weathers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Glen Goode showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolph Thurman, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute, Monty Stout made a precise shot to the right of Glen Goode. Brooklyn SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Monty Stout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rudolph Thurman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Stout in the 32nd minute of play forced Brooklyn SC's goalkeeper Glen Goode to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the game, James Uribe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Glen Goode was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Glen Goode made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Uribe in the 37th minute of play. El Canalla de Chicago's Bernie Rosales was substituted for Rudolph Thurman. El Canalla de Chicago's Cobi Babcock was substituted for A.J. Fernandez. Warren Childers charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. El Canalla de Chicago's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
