The throw-in from Santiago Sartori in the 12th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by KN ZGORZELEC's Anthimos Ntounias. 18 minutes into the match, KN ZGORZELEC's goal looked a bit too open when David Aranda came free, but Emilio Shepherd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wessel Bos in the 35th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Wessel Bos came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wessel Bos in the 40th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
