After a rather tough play, Belgium's Laurens Vandamme got a free kick in the 7th minute. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from He Xu in the 9th minute of the match. Real Murçia FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Johannes Keller in the 10th minute. Gilberto Carretero hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. He Xu made in the 13th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gilberto Carretero immediately put the ball in play. Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Real Murçia FC's Sebastian Frey got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edward Vanderstraeten in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. In the 32nd minute Gilberto Carretero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Fiori in the 35th minute of play. Sebastian Frey made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Yves Dervaux sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the match, Real Murçia FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Frey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Frey having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Frey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. 54 minutes into the match, Real Murçia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Sebastian Frey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastian Frey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 65th minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Frey having to make a save. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Carretero, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After having played for 76 minutes, Sander Dermaut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sander Dermaut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebastian Frey. Real Murçia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 86th minute of play forced Real Murçia FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Frey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmet Turan Yanıker made in the 93rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Enea Colasante however managed to control. The Real Murçia FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Belgium from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
