FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 7th minute of play. Belgium's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 8th minute. Belgium's Simon Sabbe was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lionel Paly in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Lionel Paly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Téo Rosa in the 15th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tory Pryor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. When Tory Pryor came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the FC Wil 1900 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tory Pryor couldn't finish the play. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 21st minute of play. Lionel Paly came out of the goal and Edward Vanderstraeten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Edward Vanderstraeten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgium fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. After having played for 37 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Vanderstraeten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tory Pryor in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 42nd minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnny Della Rossa made in the 43rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ivan Dové however managed to control. In the 45th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Belgium were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tory Pryor was the one to do the kick off. Casper Claes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tory Pryor's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Lionel Paly in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lionel Paly was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 60 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lionel Paly. FC Wil 1900's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Edward Vanderstraeten was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Lionel Paly in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tory Pryor, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 73rd match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Friedrich Nietzsche to maneuver through the defense. Siebe Michiels could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Lionel Paly made a huge save. A collision led to FC Wil 1900 getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Emery Heller hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten made a precise shot to the right of Lionel Paly. FC Wil 1900's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. After some careless play in the FC Wil 1900 defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lionel Paly. The FC Wil 1900 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lionel Paly should have stopped the shot. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lionel Paly. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to FC Wil 1900 getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Johnny Della Rossa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 93rd minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The FC Wil 1900 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Belgium's performance. The match ended with a win for Belgium.
