Vavrinec Holub breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Doni Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 13 minutes into the game, when Luisinho Dracena put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Czech Republic booed when Farroupilha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edu Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Czech Republic's Erik Jilek couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Farroupilha FC. After having played for 33 minutes, Alan Rezek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Czech Republic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan Rezek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilmar Pinho hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Denis Dostal scored 0-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Fabiano Cavalcante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Erik Jilek took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Fabiano Cavalcante. Luís Fabiano Cavalcante dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Farroupilha FC's Luís Fabiano Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Rezek in the 48th minute of play. In the 49th minute of the match Czech Republic got a corner. Farroupilha FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Erik Jilek ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Czech Republic's David Rusil getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal.

Décio de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vavrinec Holub having to interfere. Décio de Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Svatopluk Capek charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Svatopluk Capek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Svatopluk Capek. Denis Dostal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Fabiano Cavalcante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Farroupilha FC's Doni Koehler got a free kick in the 75th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Czech Republic's zone, Décio de Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vavrinec Holub came out of the goal and Décio de Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Czech Republic defense, Décio de Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vavrinec Holub. The Czech Republic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vavrinec Holub should have stopped the shot. Décio de Toledo took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vavrinec Holub. Vavrinec Holub dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After having played for 85 minutes, Décio de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Farroupilha FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Décio de Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, David Rusil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Décio de Toledo in the 93rd minute of play forced Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kvetoslav Janku kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. If Décio de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 100 played minutes Farroupilha FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho Abreu.
