The throw-in from Gilmar Pinho in the 9th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Slovakia's Zigmund Maliar. The supporters of Farroupilha FC booed when Slovakia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vavrinec Koleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 played minutes Farroupilha FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho Abreu. Metod Mlynar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute, Metod Mlynar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 36 minutes, Váldson de Amorim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Farroupilha FC and the Slovakia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute, Váldson de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Fabiano Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Metod Mlynar in the 40th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Metod Mlynar was the one to do the kick off. Metod Mlynar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Doni Koehler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Henrich Slany tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Doni Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farroupilha FC's protests and gave Doni Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Slovakia booed when Farroupilha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doni Koehler didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Edu Gomes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrich Slany. Slovakia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edu Gomes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zigmund Maliar during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zigmund Maliar hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Farroupilha FC's Andrézinho Abreu got a free kick in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Gomes in the 79th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Henrich Slany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Metod Mlynar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Slovakia getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Vít Biskup hit a great ball.
