When Kaj Sá fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Foda's protests and gave Kaj Sá a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Foda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mirnes Šehić to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Andrés D'Alessandro came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Kahn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mirnes Šehić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mirnes Šehić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. But to his dismay, Andrés D'Alessandro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. There was no doubt that Foda were the better team. Foda's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
