Major Barna could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Gilberto Boone made a huge save. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Varennes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Boone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Varennes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seth Luke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Maurice Odonnell made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match, Maurice Odonnell got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fodor Daniel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 56th minute, Antal Valentin made a precise shot to the right of Gilberto Boone. Varennes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Takacs Tibor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Varennes's Hong Mosher was substituted for Ward Houde. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takacs Tibor in the 74th minute of play forced Varennes's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Varennes's Wendell Petit got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Takacs Tibor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Dominguez came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fodor Daniel could save by the left post. Gilberto Boone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hegedus Henrik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Varennes's Gilberto Boone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Major Barna hit a great ball. Despite being the better team, Hungary failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
