Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Millrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. La Cosa Nostra's attentive Joaquim Vital managed to snatch the ball when Bruno Bastos made a throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game. Håkan Šuker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute of the match La Cosa Nostra got a corner. Portugal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hans Bergfelt ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hans Bergfelt made a great header on La Cosa Nostra's corner, it was just that Portugal's Wilson Amorim managed to reach the ball for a save. 88 minutes into the game, Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sonny Alén made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for La Cosa Nostra.
