Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Catalin Haldan's Frédson Melo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Mugurel Onete hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Pociu in the 9th minute of play. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugen Morozan in the 19th minute. If Frédson Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olavi Liib read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frédson Melo in the 33rd minute of play. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Živko Dabović in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Malte Schiele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. Olavi Liib made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Sachs to make the kick off. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavi Liib having to interfere. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olavi Liib read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavi Liib saved Catalin Haldan from getting behind. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédson Melo in the 62nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Sachs got free with Olavi Liib in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Frank Sachs sped through Catalin Haldan's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olavi Liib. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Olavi Liib successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Germany's Frank Sachs was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Olavi Liib in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albin Holweck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Olavi Liib tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Catalin Haldan players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
