An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Åke Termander in the 12th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Djurgårdens IF's Yngve Fredriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 16th minute of play. David Eikelkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yngve Fredriksson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by 朱义岚 in the 43rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Djurgårdens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kennet Forsman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Djurgårdens IF's Yngve Fredriksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Djurgårdens IF from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Hieronim Posadzki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yngve Fredriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kennet Forsman hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gust Ennemans. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yngve Fredriksson having to interfere. Marcus Botvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Roy Lövskog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Gust Ennemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl-Åke Termander in the 96th minute.
