Eddy Million blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Million in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Roncourt's Fernand Genty managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fabricio Andrade in the 16 minute of the game. Fabricio Andrade's late challenge caught a Roncourt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabricio Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Roncourt's Eddy Million. But to his dismay, Eddy Million quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 26th minute, J.P. Kapar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Roncourt's Wilson Amorim threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eddy Million, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Horácio Larreta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th match minute, Roncourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernand Genty to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eddy Million stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddy Million couldn't finish the play.
