The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, Frank Sachs made a precise shot to the right of Reynaldo Maia. Germany's Albin Holweck got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 11 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Janik Vogt. Jean Fernandez might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jean Fernandez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 16th match minute, São Paulo da Floresta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Félix to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Jean Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Reynaldo Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Jean Fernandez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jean Fernandez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 24 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Chris Mergenthaler. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Bernard Sierocki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Bernard Sierocki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, São Paulo da Floresta's Jean Fernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean Fernandez got free with Tommy Kahn in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. São Paulo da Floresta's Bernard Sierocki was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 44th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Albin Holweck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Maia having to interfere. Albin Holweck might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reynaldo Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albin Holweck ran back to his position shaking his head. 69 minutes into the match, Frank Sachs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reynaldo Maia. São Paulo da Floresta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frank Sachs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malte Schiele tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Tommy Kahn. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-2 in the 74th minute. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Fernandez in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Jean Fernandez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jean Fernandez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. A collision led to São Paulo da Floresta getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dênis Félix hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the game, Tony Campidelis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. São Paulo da Floresta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Germany the free kick. After 94 played minutes São Paulo da Floresta got a freekick which was hit by Tony Campidelis. For all the effort they put into the match, the Germany players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for São Paulo da Floresta.
